The City that Never Sleeps

New York is certainly a singular city in many ways, but perhaps the most striking thing about the city is the fact that it never, ever seems to stop or rest. In a desire to better understand this phenomenon, I set out with my camera and journal for an all night journey through New York City.

I rode the subway from neighborhood to neighborhood documenting both the strange and the mundane, but always seeking the essential.

This series of work unites both my long-exposure photographs and my journal entries. The words and text are presented together on pages combined in a folio of inkjet prints or in an art-book.

Watch for news about the series publication. For now, you can preview a couple of the pages in web format.
